Millview (Active Prospects)

Millview is a residential care home providing accommodation and care for up to five people with learning disabilities. Four people were living at the service at the time of inspection. The home demonstrated strong infection control practices, carefully planning community outings when venues were least busy to protect residents. Staff were actively supported to maintain their own safety, with managers providing reminders about Covid-19 precautions and free masks for them and their families.

The registered manager showed particular commitment to staff wellbeing, having trained as a mental health first aider to recognise when staff were struggling. When staff returned to work after illness, their roles and hours were flexibly adapted through a phased approach. During the pandemic, taxi transport was arranged for staff concerned about public transport safety. Weekly management meetings were held to discuss Covid-19 issues and share updates from public health guidance. The service maintained regular contact with the local GP to address any emerging concerns.
