Highgate Lodge Care Home in Walsall is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 24 older and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with a physical disability. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found medicines were not always managed safely, and governance and environmental checks were not effective enough to drive improvement, with breaches relating to consent and oversight.

Despite this, staff were found to be kind, caring and appropriately trained, with enough safely recruited staff on duty. People and relatives spoke positively about the care received, felt safe, and said they could raise concerns confidently.
