Haworth Court Residential Home

Haworth Court is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 37 people, with accommodation across two floors in a purpose-built building. The service supports older people, some living with dementia. At inspection, 32 people were using the service. People and relatives described the home as safe and homely, with caring staff. Inspectors observed positive interactions between residents and staff, and noted that people were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

Staff had received safeguarding training and understood safeguarding procedures, with sufficient numbers on hand to provide safe care. Risks associated with people's care were managed well, and people were supported to access healthcare services from a range of health and social care professionals. Relatives and staff were supportive of the management and the environment. However, systems in place to recruit staff were not robust, meaning staff were not always recruited safely.
