Freeland House Nursing Home

Freeland House Nursing Home is a 101-bed residential and nursing home providing care for older people, some of whom live with dementia. Following an assessment prompted by concerns, the CQC rated the service Good overall. Inspectors found people felt safe, staffing levels were maintained, and risks were well managed, with residents and relatives describing the management team as approachable and visible.

Some shortfalls were identified, including inconsistent dining experiences and gaps in communication between care and kitchen staff over dietary needs. Concerns were also raised about staff feeling able to speak up where personal relationships existed within management. The provider took prompt action to address these issues and had effective systems for seeking feedback and driving improvement.
