Danecroft

Danecroft provides residential care for up to 33 people aged over and under 65, including those living with dementia or physical disabilities. At inspection, 27 people were receiving care at the home. The service maintains clean premises with no odours and has implemented enhanced cleaning of frequently touched areas. Staff have received training in safe use of personal protective equipment and were observed wearing it correctly, with adequate supplies available for staff and visitors.

The home encourages relatives and friends to visit, with processes in place to reduce infection risk including visitor testing and vaccination verification. Risk assessments have been completed for all people and staff with appropriate measures to mitigate health risks. Regular COVID-19 testing is completed in line with government guidance and records are maintained by the manager. Relatives reported that staff contact them promptly with updates about changes to guidance and visiting arrangements. During lockdowns, people were supported to maintain contact with family and friends through telephone and video calls.
