Clapham Lodge Care Home

Clapham Lodge Care Home provides personal care for up to 27 people, with 20 residents at the time of inspection. The service supports people with dementia, Parkinson's disease, diabetes and other conditions. Systems to identify and prevent falls were not effective, with incomplete records and no evidence of actions taken following repeated incidents. Staff reported feeling under pressure, with care workers regularly assigned additional tasks such as cooking that diverted them from direct care responsibilities.

Medicine administration did not feel safe due to constant interruptions to staff. The service lacked effective management oversight and governance, with incomplete record-keeping, unrecorded complaints, and significant events not reported to CQC as required. Checks and audits were not in place to monitor quality and safety, and the service did not demonstrate it operated effectively to ensure regulatory compliance.
